The Jeepney & Jeep to Escolta

Celebrating the popularity of the Philippine Jeepney / Jeep, the most used public transportation vehicle since the end of World War II. I painted this two for the "98B's Saturday X Future Market" at Escolta last 2015. It was a memorable time, I missed those days when I woke up early on Saturday and meet my partner halfway. Usually we ride the train together, carrying heavy loads of goods and art stuffs. We sweat a lot as we got down from the station because of the intense heat and humidity that greets us as we leave the train, we rode a jeep to Escolta and walk a little bit to get to our final place, it was tiring, but it was fun. I enjoyed every moment of those times together with the people who really appreciated our works and spend a little buck on it. I also learned a lot from experienced guys in the art world and listened to what they have to say. All I can say is I missed the atmosphere of those places, the smell of fine crafted woods, the bent steels, the aroma of vintage items and 90s toys. The glittering accessories, colorful paintings and wonderful handmade arts. There's so many eye-candies around, it was a wonderful place to grow as an artist. Good Memories.
